Initial thoughts: This book would've been much more impactful as an essay. Kiyosaki didn't add enough new insight beyond his Rich Dad series to warrant another book. As with his other books, he's very longwinded and repetitive. Trump mostly agreed with Kiyosaki's points, and just threw in some anecdotes or historical facts to emphasise the point. Oddly, his sections were much more concise, didn't suffer from repetition and actually did come across as sound advice. Probably thanks to Meredith McIver?
In any case, Why We Want You To Be Rich does offer a starting point for people to think about their finances. After all, I do agree with their premise that we can't rely on employers, governments and/or organisations to take care of us when we retire. As a workbook for someone trying to figure out their career path, this book could be pretty helpful. It's also helpful for someone looking to forge their path outside of traditional employment, in terms of sharpening their mindset and deciding where to go next.
