This was a really fun way to end this series. Obviously, things were bound to get a little crazy with this crew in Vegas, and their antics caused fits of laughter for me, but I also liked seeing all those characters we have grown to love celebrating together. This day was a long time in the making, and it was a pleasure to see Drew and Kate finally say "I Do". Though Drew was still Drew, he has really grown quite a bit since the first book, and I wish him and Kate well. Chase sort of teased my imagination with a little scene at the wedding with Drew's niece. Maybe we can get a Tangled: The Next Generation?

As always - hilarious and sexy and sweet.

Caffeinated’s Coffee Dates with Tied

First Date: Drew and Evan are finally tying the knot in Tied. Woot! Chase catches us up on what we have missed, and we get to know James their adorable son and catch up with the rest of the gang. Tied is relayed to us from Drew’s perspective and once again the man charmed me, made me swoon and had me giggling.

Second date: We are going to Vegas baby! A bachelor party and bachelorette party have been planned and I was happy to tag along. Of course, Drew has to make sure they do it in style, and all the gang is present. Dee-Dee is in charge of the girls’ night out, and Matthew is handling the deets for Drew’s party. I was laughed, shaking my head and giggling over their antics. I’ve decided the next time I go; I want Dee-Dee in charge. Of course, things do not go smoothly, and it was just the perfect touch of angst, lessons and heart.

Third Date: Here comes the bride…. Chase gives us all of the details from the church to the reception, and it was positively delightful. I laughed, swooned and sighed. We get some updates on the gang, and I loved the updates on Mackenzie. Chase worked to satisfy her fans about the wedding and honeymoon. I adore Drew Evans, and if Kate weren’t so perfect for him, I would be truly jealous. I am delightful dizzy and closed this book with a content smile and a box of truffles.

I have a confession to make.  Earlier this year, I was at a book signing and Ms. Chase was there. I had the opportunity to get some signed books and regret that I did not.  I don't know what I was thinking, maybe the line was really long,  I don't know, clearly I was delusional.  I will NOT let that opportunity slide by again.

Sigh.  I do not want this series to be over.  Ever.  I adore the voice that Ms. Chase has given Drew and I simply cannot get enough of it.  This was one of those books that I sorta kinda put off reading as long as I could because I dreaded finishing it and being done with the series.  But honestly, I could only put it off so long and I gave in and read it.

As always, I adored Drew, Kate and little James.  Good Lord, when Drew talked about James?  My ovaries screamed.  Even when he referred to James as "darling little cockblocker" LOL!  I think I say it every time I read a book in this series (and I'm going to say it again) Drew is the perfect combination of asshole and all around loveable guy.  In fact, there increasingly LESS asshole and more LOVEABLE guy as this series progresses.

As I read this book, I kept wondering how Ms. Chase does it.  How does she get inside a male character's head so damn well?  I honestly don't know but I do know that I'll keep reading whatever she writes, no matter the POV.  Remember how much I love Matt and Dee?  (See here)  Needless to say, I have extremely high hopes for her new series - The Legal Briefs.

I will say this, I think that JACK needs a book.  I need a JACK book.  Okay?

"You probably don't want to hear this, but your mom is gorgeous-the finest ass I've ever laid eyes on.  Still, I really liked my old life and I couldn't anything better.  But I was wrong, James-falling in love with her, earning her trust, having you, are the best things I've ever done."

But then I started hearing such words as low-key and small, intimate affair  and  nothing too ostentatious.  

And I had to step in.

Because when an Olympian wins the gold medal, do they have a small, intimate affair?

Of course not.

They throw a fucking ticker-tape parade.

Which is the least of what Kate deserves.  Because everyone-including the members of my immediate family thought impossible.  She bagged me.  The grand prize- the unattainable- the megamillions jackpot.

That should be celebrated in a huge way.

 

See?  Drew.  I love him.

And Ms. Chase?  The next time I see you at a book event, you can bet your epically fantastic book writing ass, I'm getting AT LEAST one if not ALL of your books signed.

[Cocktails and Books]

After everything that happened, did anyone actually believe Drew and Kate would have smooth sailing on the way to the alter? Tied, by Emma Chase, provides the finish for these two in a way only Ms. Chase can tell from Drew’s perspective. Tied tells the story of the way to wedded bliss, complete with separate bachelor and bachelorette parties in Sin City.

Drew and Kate continue to be their same witty self, and it’s amazing to see their relationship go through everyday issues, like vacations or children, that you often don’t see in romance novels. The inclusion of their gang of friends, from Steven and Lex along with Matt and Dee Dee on the trip only added to the hilarity. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Tied, but there was something missing for me. I loved the whole series, and this was another great story, but gone was the drama and real angst seen in other romance stories. If you have read the rest of the books I would definitely recommend it, and it provides a sweet ending to a hilarious series.
