She couldn't remember the murder if her life depended on it - and it might

Waking up in the hospital from a terrible dream of a murder, Tracy discovers that it was real. And she can’t remember any of the details. And she especially can’t remember why the handsome cowboy keeps calling her “Pockets”.

Tracy and Keegan were both protecting their hearts, yet in pretty much the opposite manner. Tracy tried to isolate herself from the world while Keegan put on a sunny face and had lots of friends – yet he never really opened up to anyone. Until her.

Lost Christmas Memories was pretty much non-stop action. I appreciated the way the author kept things moving at just the right pace. With enough suspense to keep things interesting, but not so much as to make it scary, there were a number of twists and surprises throughout the book. I’m usually pretty good at solving the crime and picking up on the little hints along the way but there were a couple of details here that I missed.

I really enjoyed this story and am sorry the series has concluded. Of course, I still have two more books to read in it, so at least there is that. Each of the books stands alone and yet includes characters from the others.

I love Dana Mentink and her ability to take strong willed characters, and create not just a suspenseful, page turning romance novel, but creates one that will leave me chuckling through it. When I read a Mentink LIS, I am always hooked from page 1 and held captive (no pun intended for a suspense novella!) until the very last page is reached, and with LOST CHRISTMAS MEMORIES, it was no different. This book is a fast paced, well written, faith inspiring novella and it has me wanting more from this talented author! 

Tracy's character was awesome. From the start, I felt her heart pounding like it was my own, like I was the one who suffered through witnessing a horrific event. I loved that feeling. Ms. Mentink added twists and turns to Tracy's emotional story and  I loved that. It was like being on a roller coaster. And when Keegan enters the story. Lordy Be! That's  fine cowboy there! I loved when he was introduced to the story. You see, I married my own Knight in Cowboy Boots myself, and I saw a lot of him in Keegan with his belief in Tracy and his protectiveness. He was definitely a great addition to the story! 

If you are looking for a book this holiday season to keep you on the edge of your seat, and up all night finishing it, then this is definitely one you don't want to miss! It's the perfect blend of suspense, romance,  and holiday and blended with just the right amount of hope and faith. This book will be one that I keep and share with others when they want a quick, captivating read. Great job and 4 stars to the talented Ms. Mentink! Can't wait for another!
