A coming of age story about a young screenplay writer working on the set of Gone with the Wind.

This story is a fiction novel set in classic Hollywood circa 1930s. However, it recounts true stories of the Gone with the Wind filming along with the events leading up to the World War II. This type of storytelling is intensely fun, if not all that riveting. My ability to put it down really might be partly my fault, and not the books. I grew up in the Atlanta area so I am well aware of some of the true stories behind the filming. Additionally, my father and I love classic films set in this era of Hollywood. This book revealed nothing I had not know before.

The fictional characters were enjoyable, but not all that memorable. The writer definitely spent more time fleshing out the characterization of people from classic Hollywood, particularly Gable and Lombard.

tl;dr Enjoyable pleasant, but nothing new. You should read it if you would like to learn more about classic Hollywood.
