So much happens in this book that I don't even know where to start.

As with the other books in the series so far, the pacing is amazing. How Rick Riordan manages to fit so much into less than 400 pages, I don't know. There's everything we've come to expect in a Percy Jackson book. Monsters, fighting, nearly dying, some love-triangle, and children's choices impact the entire world.

What changes is the tone. While the other three novels are clearly geared toward middle-grade, I can't say the same can be said for this one. Unlike Books 1-3, the carefree nature of Percy doesn't resound as innocent as before. As he's getting older (15 at the end of the book), we start to see what is beyond the vale of childhood.

I'm not going to lie. Some of the scenes made me think that this was at least a YA, not middle-grade, as it deals with death and actually 'seeing' an innocent die. Several of them, in fact. It makes sense as Percy gets older since this is being told from his perspective that things become more serious and bring to light just what kind of danger he and the rest of the world is in.

However, I do want to warn you that there is death and the death of children in this book.

That being said the overall story is amazing and brings you right into the world. You -care- about the characters, even the ones who you barely know and you want the heroes to succeed. I can't wait to see what happens in book 5 (and the last in this collection), to find out how things get wrapped up (or if they do) before diving into the next set!

I forgot almost everything about the story, it was so much fun! book 3 and 4 blended into one in my mind, so I thought that Hade's kids both were in labyrinth

Oh man, I love this series! Can't wait to read the last book, but at the same time I don't want the story to end..

I loved this book, and I recommend this series for everyone. The only reason that I docked a star is that I wish this book had more action like the other three. It was a great book when it comes to plot, and story and I did like the action scenes. I just was looking for more action within the story. I really give it a 4.5, but Goodreads won't you do half stars.

By now I'm sure you all know that I really dig Greek mythology in general and this book series in particular. I don't want to repeat myself but I need to state once more how much I love the way Rick Riordan picks up famous stories, creatures and persons only to create something that is new yet familiar. His plotlines are very clever and don't ever seem copied despite him dealing with widely known stuff.
Furthermore, Riordan has a way of always adding something that will make you smile. No matter how serious the situation is, he'll come up with a funny joke, a sarcastic line, or just a hilariously awesome plot-twist. I love the characters - and especially the sidekicks - in this series. Those are both heart-warming and kicking-ass!

But the series can't really be that great, can it? Well, let me warm you: If you don't like Greek mythology you'll have a hard time. I'm sure you can enjoy the books very much if you are open to the whole topic. But in my opinion the whole thing will be much funnier when you know a bit about the most famous myths. That leaves you guessing how he'll adapt the plot and what he will introduce next.

So if you want to learn something and read a seriously awesome book about young heroes on a dangerous mission to basically save the world, check out this book! I totally love it!

Loved it! Thank goodness the series has picked back up after the third instalment, although I could do with more Tyson. He's adorable!

Oh wow, jam packed teenage action awesomeness!! This the fourth book of the Percy Jackson series and is By Far My Favourite (so far). So much happens in this instalment and the ending leaves you wanting to open the fifth book straight away.

I don’t even know where to begin.

All my favourite characters back together, Tyson, Percy, Grover & Annabeth Yay!!! And they all return alive by a mortal miracle. There’s danger at every turn, Pan is found, non-stop action the whole way though, Kronos awakens. We even get some teen angst romance in this instalment. This book reads really fast because you don’t want to put it down. But I will point out that you have to read the previous three books to know the characters backgrounds and to understand the drama or otherwise you’d be like “what the hell are these teenagers running around doing”.

Five Stars!!!!!

Well that’s all I’m going to say, I’m off to read number five now!!!!!
