am a big fan of Sophie Kinsella they are quirky and funny so her talents lend well to a children series. I jumped at the chance to be on this blog tour and so glad that i did. This is a cute fun read that can be read fairly quickly in one sitting or dole out the 4 stories over a period of a few days.

It charming and funny and i think children in the age range 5-7 that the book is intended for will throughly enjoy. The fairy mom is not a very good fairy with spells and each story something hilarious happens when she try’s to fix a problem with her magic.

I think the unique way that the mom fairy switches from being human to a fairy is quite hilarious who can’t help but laugh when you think of an adult wiggling their but and saying marshmallow to change into a fairy. It done frequently enough in the book that you could read this to classroom and have the kids act out the part while listening to the story.

The length of each story is nice and short and their are some fun illustrations included in the story to keep us throughly entertained as we read along. I can’t wait to see what other things will happen to our fairy mom in the following books in this series.

Fairy Mom and Me is a funny and lighthearted read for the age group that is right before serious middle grade (does that make sense?). Ella is a fairy in waiting and she's getting rather tired of waiting, but she's also learning lots by watching her mom try and learn how to properly do spells. Some of her mom's spells go amazingly well, and other times they go wrong. This creates a fun environment for Ella and her young sibling to grow up in. There hope is one full of laughs, and family unity, all while learning real-life lessons along the way. We see Ella's mom have to make the hard decision of listening to what her husband wants or doing what she can to save something else even if it means not keeping the agreement she made.
We also see Ella have to choose between really trying magic for herself before she is supposed to or keeping with her parent's wishes.

Overall Fairy Mom and Me is a delightful read. I loved the life lessons that were learned in this story and how they were laid out in a fun, but entertaining way that lets the reader really see both sides of the problem. You get to see why it's okay to sometimes break a promise if it means doing something good for someone else. I think this is a perfect read for a fairy-loving young person in your life!

Ella and her mother return to the spotlight in the second Fairy Mom and Me book, and with all new lessons to learn!

As with book one, this has several small stories in it that each deal with a situation that goes a bit haywire and it’s up to Ella and her magic wielding mother to fix it. While I do find these to be a bit formulaic in style and a bit too cutesy, I think it’s a fun little series with a lot of heart. I really wish her mother were a bit more capable in her abilities and a little less impulsive, but I appreciate that she isn’t painted as a perfect person as so many adults are in children’s lit. As an adult, I personally find the parents’ relationship exhausting and frustrating, simply because it seems like neither listens to the other and there is a lot of exasperation coming across. However I think the stories themselves are really cute, and I loved that we got to see more of Ella’s other family like her aunt and grandmother.

Ella is a lovely main character. She’s got enough energy to keep up with her mom’s somewhat disastrous ideas and she’s sharp enough to pick up on things in order to help fix those messes. I love that she still looks up to and adores her mother even as her mother is causing a natural disaster in their own home.

It also has some incredibly cute illustrations that fit the story and really continue that light heart feel.

I think this is a series that will definitely be a hit with the early chapter book readers, who like adorable little stories full of magic and family.
