-I love that stories are still a big deal in this book.
-As with every other companion novel I’ve ever read, I was sad we didn’t get to ‘hang’ out with the original crew but I ended up loving the new characters just as much as the old ones.
-It was great that sibling relationships were a big deal. I feel like in YA novels too many parents and/or siblings are killed off or neglected because they weight the story down. Yes, Essie was dead but she’t still a driving force for Roa.
-I loved Dax/Roa’s evolution of a relationship from friends (barely but still) as children to enemies to spouses to eventual friends again. It’s confusing but makes sense.
-I ended up loving Dax more than I thought I would. I suppose I too thought he as a fool. He surprised me.
-Now I want to read The Last Namsara again because I really don’t remember much about him.
-I’m a big fan of court politics so all the lies, secrets, and double-crossing were fantastic.
-I can’t wait to see what The Sky Weaver brings.
