Samantha’s world changes when she becomes pregnant at sixteen by Jack, the most popular boy in school, after a drunken encounter at a high school party. Eighteen years later, their daughter Lindsey is in college and Samantha starts to question her life. As Samantha looks in the mirror, she discovers, at thirty five, she looks frumpy. She has let herself go over the years, while staying home and raising their daughter. Jack married her because she was pregnant and he had no choice, but she doesn’t believe he ever loved her. Jack is a selfish, self-absorbed, demanding man and she suspects he is having an affair.
Samantha decides to make some changes in her life and starts exercising. She slowly gains confidence, finds a job and meets Slate, a blue eyed, bad-boy biker. Samantha doesn’t want to get involved with Slate because he is younger than her and she is married, but there is an instant attraction between them.
Slate is a handsome, hot, alpha male and under his gruff exterior he’s a nice guy. He’s immediately attracted to Samantha, but it takes him a while to open up to her. He hides from emotions and is mysterious. Slate had my heart from the first moment Samantha meets him. He is a bossy guy with a soft spot for Samantha, even though it is hard for him to admit it.
DIAMOND GIRL captivated me. Andrea Smith writes a fast paced, edgy book with a lot twists and turns. Samantha and Slate have sizzling chemistry when they were together. Is it possible to find true love with a bad-boy biker?
