Great story with wonderful characters. I was drawn into the story immediately and was there rooting for and suffering with Evan and Matt every step of the way...until James! Knocked me right out of the story with a huge WTF and I just never got back into the same headspace. Don't get me wrong...James was a stand-up guy and I'll enjoy reading his story but I didn't concur with how he was introduced in this book. It just didn't "fit" in my mind..
This was an amazing story. I really, really liked Evan and Matt. Evan is still grieving for his dead wife, whom had died a little more than a year before in a car accident, and Matt is just going through the motions with his life. They were both at a crossroads when they met and I thought they were perfect for each other. I also enjoyed the progression of their relationship. They were uncertain of what to do together, but I liked how they didn’t fight their attraction. The love scenes between them were hot and it was so easy to see their love for each other. My only real complaint was an action Matt took near the end of the book. It didn’t seem to serve much of a purpose to me and I felt it detracted from the story. I am looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
