Quirky Cat
Summary:
Twilight is a master spy. By their nature, spies cannot be famous. But Twilight is as close as they come to being famous for his career. He's the go-to agent for tough jobs, so he's been given a new assignment that might be above his capabilities.
He must first obtain a family to take on his new undercover role. In less than two weeks, at that! First, he must find a child of the right age to attend an elite private school. Then he must find a mother willing to take on this odd pairing. Not to mention passing as a family to the school. Can he get it done in time?
Review:
I have been hearing SO MUCH about Spy x Family, so I decided to sit down and finally try it. And I must admit – it's already proving worth the chatter. I know the first volume is often all set up, so I have high expectations for everything that follows!
Spy x Family Vol. 1 introduces us to the central premise and cast. We have a spy (Twilight/Loid), a telepath (Anya), and an assassin (Thorn Princess/Yor). It's not a typical family. Then again, their reasons for coming together are hardly typical! It's a lot to take in for a first volume, but it's also a lot of fun so that balances out.
The best part of the series (thus far) has to be the sense of humor. While most characters take themselves too seriously (intentionally so), the author does not. The plots are epic, to a scale that requires one to laugh. Again, I'm sure that's all intentional. I can't wait to see where it goes!
