When I finished reading this book I certainly didn't love it. The initial characters are so unpleasant it was hard to get through the first section. And, while it improved in the second and third sections I still didn't find anything I truly enjoyed.
Until I discussed it with my book club. Then I recognize and appreciate what a great job [a:Alice Hoffman|3502|Alice Hoffman|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1269713710p2/3502.jpg] has done constructing the story; I like the themes she presents and the way she presents them very much. The threads of where these characters lives intersect are also interesting. Though I didn't find anything that made this book spectacular I liked what it had to say and the way she said it much more than the story itself.
