I didn't really know what to expect with this one. I knew it was about Tiel and Sam and their marriage but really and truly it was about SO MUCH MORE.

Holy crap, Kate Canterbary can pack a whole lot of emotion into a book. I laughed and laughed (as I have in every KC book I've read so far) AND I cried. Cheezus, I cried more than once and I can the number of authors that have accomplished that on one hand.

At this rate, my husband and cats will have to deal with all of the KC books that I'll be cuddling with and I expect that number to go up.

"All my best things come from elevator disasters"

I love the Walsh family, and was really happy to be back in their world. Though we knew things worked out with Tiel and Sam from Shannon's story, Restored fills in some of those gaps and offers another perspective on events we previously saw.

"It's like a part of me that was wrecked for a long, long time, and you restored it. You restored me."

This is the second book, where Canterbary stepped back in time, and showed us pieces of events we already knew, but I really liked getting to see it through another character's eyes. For example, we read about Will and Shannon's relationship in the previous book, but in this book, when it is revealed, we get a little more insight into the family's opinion, since this book is from the POV of Tiel and Sam. We get to see the wedding through Sam and Tiel's eyes this time, and they focus on different things than Shannon and Will. I sort of liked what Canterbary did there.

"He was going to be my husband, the father of my babies, the one I grew old and most likely senile with, the one that meant all for me."

Both Tiel and Sam had some issues to work through, but there was a great focus on Tiel. She struggled with being "enough" for all those in her life, and needed to resolve some of her family conflicts. While working through her personal issues, she and Sam as also working through their new married life. There are a lot of the typical struggles of a newly married couple, along with some bumps and disappointments, but those two did a good job of utilizing the "trust tree" and resolving a lot of issues up there in its branches.

Canterbary planted the seeds for both Erin and Riley's stories, and I am looking forward to reading them soon. Through this book, I shed some tears, I smiled wistfully, and I laughed, because how do you not laugh when spending time with the Walshes?
