An overtly sexual novel based on the need of a divorced mother with a troubled College Freshman son to find herself and establish a meaningful sexual relationship. Filled with people ranging from transgender to lesbian, homosexual, straight, asexual, much younger male than female, MILFs etc. While it had it's enjoyable moments, I found the book a bit of a disappointment.

To be fair, Tom Perrotta is the literary version of Woody Allen. He pushes the envelope on humor, sexual identity, diversity, and social issues. Not all of it make sense but he tries. This contemporary fiction novel can be funny and entertaining if you like cringe comedy and a good diversion to the daily grind of life. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re looking to kill time with a Woody Allen-esque book, this is the one.
