The latter is illustrated by Alex Brychta and his six-year-old son, Dylan. The six stories are available in both "Little Book" and "Big Book" formats.

The "Owls Storybooks" offer a continuation of the "magic key" stories at Stage 5. They provide carefully controlled sentence structure, encourage prediction through closely linked text and illustrations, and provide starting points for topic work including dinosaurs, space and jungle wildlife.

The pages of this booklet are laid out in the form of a fact finder to enable children to make their own information book. It has a mock front cover, a "Fact Finders" club logo, formatted introduction, contents and index pages, and inside pages laid out to show where the text and illustrations should go. Using it, children can make non-fiction books based on their own research - a key tenet of the approach of the "Fact Finders". The booklet will help children learn to use published information books to research their own information, familiarizing them with common structures and conventions. It will reduce the amount of teacher input and enable children to produce a more professional result for their own class libraries. Instructions are included on a label on the pack and class pack. Available only as a pack of 6 or a class pack of 30.

This story, about the role reversals of a knight, is part of the "Wrens" level of story books at Stage 3 of the "Oxford Reading Tree". It is designed for children needing help to progress to Stage 4 and consolidates words from Stage 3 Wrens, in patterned sentence constructions. Other "Wren" books in the series at Stage 3 include: a princess and a dragon; Dad in pursuit of his musical hobby much to Floppy's consternation; a community help project to improve the environment; a strange creature which turns up in the park; Mrs May in great distress (but don't worry, there's a happy ending); and Mum and Dad experiencing the ups and downs of shopping together.
