"Clip Art" disks, containing a bank of images and words from "Oxford Reading Tree" stories in colour and black and white, include: the main characters in a variety of poses; a number of background scenes and characters from the stories; familiar objects such as the magic key and abandoned glasses; and the key words from Stages 1 to 3. Children can recreate "Reading Tree" stories or write their own, and teachers can make activity sheets to suit various needs. Useful ideas and activities for using the "Clip Art" are given in the instruction manual. The package should be especially useful for teachers of special needs children.

They introduce longer, more complicated sentence structures, involve more complex storylines and subplots, and offer a starting point for story-writing. This pack contains one copy of each title of the "big books" for stage 8: "The Kidnappers", "Viking Adventure", "The Rainbow Machine", "The Flying Carpet", "A Day in London" and "Victorian Adventure".

From the inimitable Hunt/Brychta stable, stories specially written for children needing help to progress to Stage 4 include: the role reversals of a knight, a princess and a dragon; Dad in pursuit of his musical hobby much to Floppy's consternation; a community help project to improve the environment; a strange creature which turns up in the park; Mrs May in great distress (but don't worry, there's a happy ending); and Mum and Dad experiencing the ups and downs of shopping together. Each book consolidates words from Stage 3 Wrens, in patterned sentence constructions. Earlier ORT key words and other high frequency words are also used.
