I am a sucker for a good sports romance, and I really enjoyed this one. Once again, Frederick gives us a great heroine with Lucy. She is a cautious girl, who makes her decisions only after doing a risk assessment. She does not like to take risks, but then along came Matty. Matty is BMOC as a member of the university's championship football team. He was partaking in all the typical man-whore antics until he meets Lucy, and cannot get her out of his mind.

I really liked these two together. They had chemistry, but they also had an intellectual attraction, and they brought out the best in each other. Each of them grew from being with the other, and I was lucky to be along for the ride. Every time another sweet and tender side of Matty was revealed, I sighed and wanted to smack Lucy for ever doubting him. I rooted for these two the whole time, and was really proud of these two for being able to overcome all the barriers and fight for that HEA.

Definitely a series I will read more of (Hammer's story next?)
