Maybe 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this overall. I liked the writing style, I loved the characters, the general concept was interesting. But. There were just too many plot holes, convenient coincidences and unexplained or under-explained parts of the world-building for me to ignore and give a higher rating.

Worth a read if you're a fan of the author or genre.
