Beautiful world building, interesting characters that you come to care about and written with a unique voice that takes some getting used to but works well.

Often in books with multiple viewpoints/interleaved characters, I find myself looking forward to some of the story arcs and slogging my way through others. In this book, every time I came to a perspective change, I found myself looking forward to reading the next section.
