The Little Red Wolf by Amelie Flechais

The Little Red Wolf

by Amelie Flechais

Lose yourself in in the dark forests of Amélie Fléchais’ spectacular artwork. A young wolf, on a journey to bring his grandmother a rabbit, is charmed by the nice little girl who offers to help him…but nice is not the same as good. A haunting fairy tale for children and adults alike.

A fairytale retelling in the style of the uncensored Brothers Grimm. My favourite fairy tale is Little Red Riding Hood and I adore fractured retellings even more so this book was always likely to be a win for me. But it surpassed my expectations. The artwork in incredible, absolutely exquisite with the amount of detail and heart that's clearly gone into it. The fairy tale itself has been fractured and has a strong and impactful moral about their being two sides to every story and the consequences of jumping the gun. I didn't quite mean to make that pun but ... *shrugs*. 4 stars for target audience.
