Reminiscent of Doctor Who, Alienated is a charmingly romantic and exciting new science fiction young adult novel. It's a fantastic to start, to what looks to be a promising series. Melissa Landers intergalactic world is brilliantly imaginable and vibrant with gorgeous imagery. Her approach in mixing both humans and aliens in this sci-fi light thriller, works flawlessly well in blending together quite nicely with the storyline she has created. Anyone who enjoys the likes of Doctor Who is sure to enjoy this captivating novel.

The characters are wonderfully promising and extremely likable. The romance is sweet, funny, and full of so much charm. I loved the chemistry between Cara and Aelyx, it was sweet and hot at the same time. Landers definitely knows how to write top of the line romance, without going over the line. Cara is just absolutely fantastic in all of her clever brilliance and feistyness and there's hardly any words I can use to describe how amazing Aelyx is. He was my favorite thing about this novel, to be honest.

Right from the start, the way the story flowed, and the writing style pulled in and gripped me. I could not put this book down until I had finished it. Brilliantly written, absolutely full of beautiful nuanced characters with so much depth and layers, interesting background knowledge on the sci-fi elements, Alienated is a book that you are most definitely going to want to pick up and read this year. It's quite possibly one of the best sci-fi books that I've read all year! You cannot go wrong with this novel, definitely be on the look out for more to come from Melissa Landers.
