It may be that watching the show before reading the book improved the experience for me but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed another YA book this year. My only gripe, which seems silly for a YA book, is how young everyone is while being talented assassins, Grisha, gang leaders, gunslingers, scientists, warriors, etc. But I'll take it, in exchange for a believable heist (for a fantasy novel), and well-written relationships and characters.
