Initial thoughts: In many ways, Joyful wasn't a particularly surprising book. I think anyone who spends time observing people and who is self-aware would be able to list down and group things that begin us joy. What did make this book a must-read is that it intentionally draws attention to these things and explores the impact these can have on us. In that regard, I thought Joyful was quite insightful, especially given the research the author has done on the subject matter. It's not longer a subconscious knowledge but a conscious one that you can use to your advantage.
