A reference book covering a much neglected area of children's education: the teaching of those skills needed to read for information. This book aims to meet the requirements of the English National Curriculum at key stages 1,2 and 3, which demands that pupils should be able to extract information from books without resorting to copying verbatim. With spcial reference to primary aged children it analyses the concept of reading to learn and the development of notemaking skills.
