The pack comprises: A 32-page full-colour children's storybook on the adventures of a child who lives in Plymouth today. The storyline will see the child through a collection of disasters and delights while subtly, through the use of the story and illustrations, introducing the reader to the physical and human geography of the area. A 192-page structured teaching programme contains geographical background information, step-by-step lesson plans, photocopiable activities, homework and assessment sheets plus valuable record, pupil and curriculum development sheets. The pack will be divided into specific lesson plan sections, including: landscape, water, weather, people, settlement, transport, industry and environment.

This teaching kit provides a wide range of resources for teaching the study of Bury St Edmunds. It not only looks in detail at the market town itself but the surrounding region which affects it. The structured teaching programme is organized into sections such as the town, landscape, industry, transport, settlement and population, weather, water supply and farming. Each of these sections contains background information for the teacher, lesson plans, ideas for assessment and photocopiable activity sheets. There is also a reference section that includes a unique regional atlas. The children's story book is written in diary format and tells of the fictional adventures of a child who lives near the town. This book contains full-colour illustrations plus photographs of many of the different buildings and areas mentioned in the story. The colour posters include a unique Ordnance Survey map specially created for the pack, a poster featuring photographs of different aspects of the village, as well as a variety of aerial and vertical photographs.
