This teaching kit provides a wide range of resources for teaching the study of Bury St Edmunds. It not only looks in detail at the market town itself but the surrounding region which affects it. The structured teaching programme is organized into sections such as the town, landscape, industry, transport, settlement and population, weather, water supply and farming. Each of these sections contains background information for the teacher, lesson plans, ideas for assessment and photocopiable activity sheets. There is also a reference section that includes a unique regional atlas. The children's story book is written in diary format and tells of the fictional adventures of a child who lives near the town. This book contains full-colour illustrations plus photographs of many of the different buildings and areas mentioned in the story. The colour posters include a unique Ordnance Survey map specially created for the pack, a poster featuring photographs of different aspects of the village, as well as a variety of aerial and vertical photographs.
