The aim of the book is to convey the importance of financial accounting and financial statements to modern management, and to stimualte the student's interest by demonstrating how the investing, financing, and operating decisions of businesses are reflected in their financial statements. In each chapter a well known corporation is used to provide a physical context for the discussion of accounting information. A strong emphasis is placed on financial statement analysis and different aspects of management including marketing strategy, human resources, financing strategy, manufacturing, corporate communication and mergers and acquisitions. At the end of each chapter exercises, problems and cases test the students' knowledge.
