Dylan and Darcy, two workaholics, who are thrown together by a mutual friend trying to play matchmaker for the pair.
Darcy is a chef whose restaurant in South Carolina burns down and her friend in Vermont invites her up to get away from the stress of seeing all her work as a chard mess and for her to try to take the opportunity for some down time to enjoy the holiday.
Darcy is introduced to Dylan who is under a lot of stress himself. He is taking care of his two young niece while and brother and sister-in-law are in the military and currently overseas. Of course, Dylan’s brother is Mr. Perfect and on top of the stress of trying to make the perfect Christmas for the girls, everyone is Town is trying to get Dylan to fill in for his brother in all the Town’s holiday preparation.
Both Darcy and Dylan agree that it is crazy to get too attached since they live very different live, they still are drawn to each other and Darcy wants to help Dylan make the perfect Christmas for the girls. Just when they think they might have just have things under control, both sets of grandparents show up to also help make Christmas special for the girls.
There is plenty of Christmas holiday in this story. Dylan does need to learn to say no to a people as he was already dealing with enough and remember that his perfect brother has a wife to help him with kids while he does all those special favors throughout the Town. The author should have upped the amount of cute kid time since that was a bit lacking.
