After reading this author's ONE TO HOLD series and really enjoying it, I was interested in giving this one a try. This appears to be a spin-off of the DIRTY PLAYERS duet which has been languishing on my TO READ list for what seems like forever. The good news here is that this can be read as a standalone with NO problems whatsoever. I never felt lost or felt like I was dropped into the middle of a story.
This is Logan's and Kass's story. A second chance love affair that will melt your heart. After the events that occurred in the DIRTY PLAYERS books Logan is left feeling alone and unsettled. When the King suggests he take a few days off to relax Logan finds himself in a casino. There his path crosses with an unforgettable blast from his past. His first and only love Cassandra.
Things heat up fast between these two former lovers, but with Kass keeping a huge secret from Logan it's only a matter of time before the truth comes out and that could cost Kass to lose Logan forever. Filled with steam, intrigue, and action, this book checked all the right boxes for me.
Like I said above this one checked all my boxes. I love me a good second chance romance and this one did not disappoint. I loved both Kass and Logan. They were smokin hot together (and the sex scenes plentiful). The writing was fantastic. The plot flowed nicely and was full of action and intrigue. This was angsty, but without all the other woman drama. My favorite type of angst.
Just an overall really enjoyable read.
