Rio finds herself, a New York transplant in the OC due to her father's new position with his firm. Her mother, a former almost-super-model, quickly embraces the Cali sunshine and all its trappings, and wants her daughter to embrace this lifestyle as well. In an effort to fit in and please her mother, Rio sort of loses her way and herself.

There is a lot of mean girls, girls gone wild, and poor decisions in this book. There is also the idea that it is not acceptable to just stand by, quietly, as others are bullied, the idea that it is acceptable to stand up for what your believe in, and the idea that it is acceptable to be yourself.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and found it entertaining.
