Then there's sexy vice cop Joe Morelli - the man her heart says she's in love with (even though her head says otherwise). He's after Ranger too - but for less romantic reasons. . . And now there's another male in her life. He's big, he's orange, and he howls when he's left alone. Sexual temptation, homicidal maniacs, car crashes and doughnut addiction are all part of Stephanie Plum's daily routine. But all that pales into insignificance when Grandma Mazur moves in . . .

If ever I write a book, I would wish it would be as funny as Janet Evanovich. I'd settle for it to be just as readable as a Janet Evanovich too because, darn, that woman can write an addictive tale. I'm going through a bit of a reading slump at the moment (basically, I'm waiting for Something Borrowed to arrive - 10 days and counting - so I don't want to read anything else because I want to read that as soon as it comes), but I always have time for some Evanovich at bed-time. You'll be unsurprised to know I loved Hot Six.

I must admit, from what we know of Ranger I did wonder if we'd get a novel where he's on the lam and Stephanie has to bring him back in (yeah right!) and that's the story of Hot Six. Chuck in a murderous FTA, a rival gang tailing her and her Grandma Mazur and you have another Stephanie Plum novel. Despite the fact all six books so far all follow the same format, it's not getting stale. Not for me. Janet manages to throw in little differences that make the book seem entirely unique. One of my favourite characters from Hot Six is a dog, Bob, that Stephanie ends up with. He is hands down the most hilarious (and disgusting) dog ever.

After Hot Six I can say unequivocally that I'd like to marry Ranger. He's dangerous, rugged, funny and I was gutted that he cut his hair off. If he doesn't have his hair back in Seven Up I'll be murderous. Which is funny 'cos I didn't like Ranger having long hair in book one. But now I can't imagine him sans hair. Am I strange? The jury's still out on that one. I LOVE the interactions between Stephanie and Ranger. But I also like Morelli. It's very much a puzzle. Because Morelli and Ranger are both marry-able. Stephanie is just Stephanie. Blowing up cars, almost getting killed, it surprises me that I'm resigned to the fact Stephanie is a death trap. She needs to just stick to the Buick 'cos nothing ever happens to the Buick.

I'll be starting Seven Up later tonight and I can't wait. I want more Stephanie, more Ranger, more Morelli, more Grandma Mazur and more wacky but brilliant FTAs. This is probably the best book series I've ever read because it STILL makes me laugh. I nearly died laughing when Bob pooed in the car of the bad guys. Just thinking of it now makes me crack up. Somebody needs to knight Janet Evanovich. I love her.
