This book was okay overall. Its a bit heavy on the angst so be prepared. I might not have minded it so much if I was in the mood for a more angsty read but then again, maybe I would have found it just as annoying. There were so many times I wanted to kick the crap out of Lucas. I mean really, honestly, reach in the book and beat him to death. Part of the extra angst comes from you seeing Lucas and Alex literally grow up together: elementary school, middle school, high school and beyond. So there is the typically teenage angst to be expected from teenagers. The story is so frustrating at times because you are so angry at the characters. Really though, I think thats the sign of great writing. You want to throw the book yet you HAVE to know if these two get their HEA. So, my advice: if you are looking for an emotional, angsty read this is great. If you think you might want one in the future, add this to your TBR on your "angst" shelf and save it for later!
