Okay let me be brutally honest for a hot second: I almost DNFed. At the start, I was pretty bored and hated Vicky a lot, so at 12% I almost threw in the towel. But you know how I am, I pushed through, so here we are.
And... I ended up really enjoying it! So if you're not loving it at first, there may be hope for you too! Vicky got a lot more likable as the book went on. I didn't mind when she made some mistakes because okay, we all do! She actually became more likable to me, more realistic too. And yes, I was wholly invested in her love life, I'll admit it! And just like Vicky didn't know who to trust, Shannon didn't know who the heck Vicky should trust either. It's fun to play along!
I loved the historical part of it, and the shady mystery part, though at times it maybe was a little tedious to keep wondering whodunit? But it was a quick read, and definitely entertaining, so all in all I am quite glad that I am garbage at DNFing and kept reading this one, because it turned out to be worth it!
