Poppy has a way with words, so much so that she freelances as a modern-day Cyrano and has clients who pay her to write poems, love letters, even their wedding vows!
I would say she is all about romance. She believes that true love exists, she wants to be romanced, and she wants it all. But alas she is single and the dates she has been on are a flop.
She does have one regular client, Dylan. He is a bit of a ladies’ man? A player? I think both can describe him. He hires Poppy on a regular basis to woo the latest woman in his sights, and every time she has done a perfect job.
He requires her service yet again this time the stakes are high. If Jasmine says yes, Poppy will receive $50K but can Poppy’s words work their magic? You really have to read it to find out.
Dylan, well he is a typical book boyfriend material, once the layers are stripped bare, but he does not have a clue about romance or commitment.
I absolutely loved this book, Poppy is quite clumsy and reminded me a little of me with her awkwardness in certain situations and I was laughing out loud.
It was fast-paced, and Lila did a great job building her characters as they all felt so real. It was really well written.
Lila Monroe is a new author to me, but she has sealed her fate and I will definitely be looking out for more books written by her.
