Sex, Love, Lust, Hate by Mika Jolie is one of twenty books in the Sinful Secrets anthology. One would never have guessed this was a novella based on how well developed the characters were and the depth of the story.
Sex, Love, Lust, Hate introduces the reader to Jagger and Charlotte, coworkers who could not tolerate each other. Jagger believed Charlotte was entitled and the reason she had the job was because of her Father being the CEO. However, what he didn’t know was she had to work harder than the other employees to prove herself. Their interactions were angsty, snarky, chilly and witty. Then the opportunity for a promotion forced them to work together to prove who was the more qualified candidate. It was at his point things became more interesting.
Wow! Talk about sizzling chemistry. They had it in spades. I enjoyed the pace at which their relationship developed. Not too slow and not too fast.
Working together made them realize how wrong they were about each other. Making assumptions about a person without getting to know said person is never a good thing.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Overall, Sex, Lust, Love, Hate was a wonderful story. My only complaint was I wanted more of this couple. Readers who are looking for a short story with well-developed characters, a sizzling romance and you are a fan of the enemies to lovers trope then you will enjoy this Sex, Lust, Love, Hate.
