A warrior with inner demons falls for a woman who could save his soul in this seductive novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series.
Within the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Rhage is the warrior vampire with the strongest appetites. He’s the deadliest fighter, the most voracious lover, the quickest to act on his impulses. He’s also been cursed with two hundred years of hell. Possessed by a beast, he lives in fear of the times when his inner dragon comes out and he’s a danger to everyone around him.
Mary Luce has unwittingly found herself in the vampire world, and under Rhage’s protection. With her own life-threatening curse to bear, she’s not looking for love. Besides, she’s stopped believing in saving grace and miracles long ago. But when Rhage’s intense sexual attraction turns into emotional bonding, he knows he must have her for his mate. As their enemies close in, Mary finds herself praying for something she fears she’ll never have: life eternal with the one she loves.
I have only read the first two but, J.R. Ward is great at describing every little detail that there could possibly be. I enjoyed that Rhage had a beast in him and that the beast was described so beautifully by Mary. Made me totally believe that even though yes he is cursed by this, that the creature is very beautiful. Goes with that whole Beauty and the Beast thing, even though Rhage himself is drop dead gorgeous.
I love the sex scenes tremenduously. I love J.R. Wards use of tersm when it comes to the male and female anatomy, instead of hearing the normal quirky terms we usually hear or the provacative ones who hear as well. I enjoy hearing them called her core, and his sex. That was great loved it!
I also enjoy weird enough as it may sound the term "female" being used a lot, I don't know but it seemed rather sweet. Better than being called "Woman" which now days seems to derogatory than not.
Any who I love Dark Lover, I loved Lover Eternal even though I kind of wish that Wrath and Beth were more involved like the others are, but other than that I like the level it is taking and I am starting to read Lover Awakened right now, and I am sure it is going to suck me in like the other two did.
