I thought this was a really neat idea for a story. What happens after death? Can ghosts fall in love? Can they "live" happily ever after? The short answer is, yes. The long answer, is this review.

The story itself, as a whole, was good. It starts with Jemma dying, then goes back a couple days and shows the events leading to her untimely demise. Fortunately, just about everyone she knows, including her roommate Alice, has some sort of psychic ability. Even Alice's friends all have something. EVERYONE IS PSYCHIC. That takes some of the special out of it for me.

I also felt like I was being told a story, not living vicariously through the characters. It is one thing to be told how they are feeling; anxious, scared, amorous, etc. It is another entirely to be able to make me feel those emotions right along with them. The way this was written just didn't do it for me.

And the time lapses ... "3 months later they were in love" ... Ok, yeah, that isn't a direct quote, but you get my meaning. That is an appropriate amount of time, but I want to know how they got there. Don't tell me, show me. I want to feel involved. Be a part of the story. Become emotionally invested in these characters. I want to care about what happens to them.

But like I said at the beginning, the story itself was really neat. It touched on death, love, after-life, unfinished business, secrets fate, friendship, and all manner of other topics that we all encounter in our lives. I was not sure how a book like this could pull off a HEA (Happily Ever After), and I am not sure if I should tell you if it was successful. That is what kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning to find out.

Overall, it was a decent book. It didn't wow me, but I don't feel like I wasted my time having read it. I would say it gets a solid 3 stars, and is recommended for anyone who wants an easy read, about a topic not normally covered.
