Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

This book has been on my to-read list since January 2012. I hit a lull in my reading cycle and couldn't even settle down to finish the book I'm currently reading, [b:Motherless Child|13237060|Motherless Child|Marianne Langner Zeitlin|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1328774761s/13237060.jpg|18434883]. Usually when this happens I browse my wishlist and make a whim purchase of a book that I've been hoping that someone would purchase for me for an upcoming holiday, birthday or just cause you are cool present. No such luck, as you probably figured out, since I added in January and purchased it for myself in July. Maybe I need to be more forceful with my friends and family about wanting books or gift cards to bookstores as presents. Anyway, I digress.

The last time I cried this much reading a book was a very long time ago when I read [b:A Taste of Blackberries|252000|A Taste of Blackberries|Doris Buchanan Smith|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1173151516s/252000.jpg|244189] by Doris Buchanan Smith. I highlighted so many passages and individual quotes one would think I was back in English Survey 101 which was also a long time ago. It's books like this that make me continue reading. There is brutal honesty in this narrative and only a hard hearted person would not cry at the end.
