Construction Beauty Queen was such a cute and delightful read! It's an opposites attract, don't judge a book by its cover, small town romance and I adored it! I was a bit concerned in the beginning, because the way the town treats Veronica when she first shows up is completely despicable and didn't feel believable. But once I got to know the townspeople better, it's exactly the kind of thing they'd do to someone that they don't like! And they certainly don't like the rich girl who's unknowingly ruining the plans for the town.

What I loved best about Construction Beauty Queen was Veronica's personal journey. It wasn't until about 60% in that I realized that the lovebirds hadn't had much screen time together yet, but I didn't care because I was so caught up in her story! She's just moved to Kortville to start living life how she wants. Her parents think it's her job to smile and look pretty rather than putting her MBA to use in the family business. Well, Veronica is having none of that! She left her car, credit cards, and fancy possessions behind and is now living in a run down trailer that she spiffed up herself and working construction for her grandfather. Matt, who owns half the company, isn't too happy that this Barbie is getting in his way, but she surprises him with her enthusiasm and eventually her business smarts when she starts working in the office instead of on site. Do not underestimate her!

Then there's the community aspect of Construction Beauty Queen. Kortville is a tiny town and everybody knows everybody and everybody looks out for everybody. They have grand plans for their little community, but funding is not easy to come by. Luckily, Veronica comes in with her business savvy, connections, and big heart and helps these people realize their goals. It was also funny later in the story, after Matt and Veronica have their fight, to see the tables turn and have Matt on the receiving end of the town's snubbing! Serves you right!

I just really enjoyed Construction Beauty Queen. I absolutely loved Veronica and her determination. She wants to use her brain rather than her looks to get by in life, and she wants to do things her way rather than her parents'. She also doesn't let anything keep her down! I also liked getting to know the quirky town residents, especially Pauline and her wacky culinary concoctions!
