Solid start to The Kings series. Beckett comes off as being a hardass, rightfully so, after growing up with his father. Samara is a hardass as well and the two of them really complement each other well. It's nice to read about characters that are "hard" on the outside but share their vulnerabilities to each other. Neither Beckett nor Samara sacrificed who they were as individuals in order to be in a relationship with each other.
I'm REALLY looking forward to Frank and Journey. 2019 feels very far away.
