Wedding season is in full swing. Unfortunately her first wedding comes with Kimberly, the bride from hell. First time I’ve read a book with a character bearing my name and she’s a bitch. Why? Lucas, the love interest from book one, a security specialist, is coming for a visit and Scarlett’s ghostly companion, a Victorian era gentlemen is all sixes and sevens because local gossip diva and fellow ghost Gwen, has a new love interest. It’s enough to make a certain young florist pull her hair out…but as we know with Garrett things are going to get worse before they get better.

Kimberly ends up murdered, and a client’s dead wife is haunting Scarlett. If she wants any peace she will need to help them crossover.

I enjoyed the murder-mystery thread and liked that Lucas could step in and assist. The ghosts surrounding Scarlett add to the story and bring both humor and suspense. Flapjack, her ghostly cat companion is snarky. I can picture him rolling his eyes in disgust as events unfold.

As if things aren’t crazy enough, ghosts within the community go missing including Gwen’s new bo. This was a great thread and took a dark turn. It also pushed Scarlett to open a book given to her. I am exciting to see where this takes the series.

Humor, mystery, friendship and a touch of romance made this an enjoyable listen. Amanda Ronconi narrates and does a splendid job with character voices and pacing as she captures the tone of the tale. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer
