Tessa hasn’t had it easy the last several years. She is finally in a somewhat good place after escaping her abusive ex with her son, Eric. She has even switched careers from teaching elementary school to becoming an on air weather reporter. Tessa wants something physical but doesn’t believe she can have a serious relationship due to her ex, Rich, stalking her every move. Once she and Adam share a steamy kiss, they both agree to more. Soon, the two are sneaking around, taking any moments they can away from Rich’s sight.
Unfortunately, Fireweed Harbor is a small town and soon their friends and family members see things both Adam and Tessa are trying to hide. When Tessa finds out Rich has a girlfriend of his own and isn’t being as much of a scumbag as usual, she slowly brings her relationship with Adam public. Eric even approves of her new relationship since he, at only six years old, knows his dad was abusive to his mom.
J. H. Croix develops a spicy best friend’s brother/single mom story. Croix gives us the excitement of sneaking around, the blush of new love, and the realization of utter devotion in a fabulous addition to the Fireweed Harbor series. If you enjoy a spicy contemporary romance with flares of drama, you’ll love Wait for You.
