Close contact was a romance with a lot of danger, but there was humor and friendship as well. The hotness between Maxi and Miles was off the charts.

Story:

Maxi thought she was done with Miles, especially when she moved to her late grandmother's house in the countryside. Close Contact soon showed me that Maxi needed more than just physical backup, though. When she woke up outside in the middle of the night, with no memory of how she got there, she went to the only place she knew she would find someone to help her keep safe.

Miles wasn't sure what to think when Maxi was sitting in his boss' office one morning. She was all disheveled and looked afraid. He could have been happy to see her, but he felt more like she was only after him for his body now. After all, he guarded people with his body, and that's what she needed, right?

Close Contact is a nicely woven romantic suspense in which Foster brings the best of both world together. Other former MMA fighters from the Body Armor show up to support Miles, and as they get to know Maxi better, they understand that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the relationship between the two protagonists.

A whirlwind of action, scary happenings and hot romance made Close Contact a great story to curl up with, and Foster delivered the goods I so needed.

Characters:

Maxi is a personal shopper who has inherited her late grandmother's old farm. She loves the place, even if it's far from the city and her usual urban lifestyle.

Miles has recently left the MMA to work for Body Armor, and what he thought he had with Maxi was sweet and hot all at the same time - until she disappeared.

Writing style :

Close Contact is written in third person point of view, past tense. Most of the narration follows Maxi, with several chapters from Miles perspective as well. The dialogues as well as the almost omniscient narrator makes it easy for the reader to follow the action, all the while keeping the mystery and the suspense intact.

Feels :

Wowza, the feels here were full and kept me guessing. I felt Maxi's anguish and her hope. I also felt her frustration when it came to her family. Of course, Miles' protectiveness was easily felt as well. And I was just plain happy to get to know these characters, while also catching up with favorites from prior books.

Maybe because she was the one who got away, or the one who hand't been all that hung up on him in the first place. His ego was still stung, that was all.
