Buried Lies starts off with a very creepy intro that I wasn't expecting. I love when an author gives you a glimpse into an unexpected character! The story shifts after the brief into to our main characters, Noah, the town sheriff, and Poppy, a new resident who opened a bookshop/bakery cafe. She is desperately trying to get her business off the ground and put her past behind her.

The attraction is immediate between Noah and Poppy which I always like. I felt the drama of the story was darker than the previous book and added an edge to the story (which yall know I appreciate a great deal)!

Buried Lies by Kaylea Cross brings you a delightful small town, searing hot romance, and danger! I didn't want to put the book down and go to sleep. There wasn't a good stopping point! If you haven't read book 1, thats totally okay! These really are stand alones with interconnected characters. However, I did really enjoy book 1, so I suggest you check it out as well!

Small town romantic suspense like Be a Good Girl by Tess Diamond, Picking Up the Pieces by Maryann Jordan, Pretend You're Safe by Alexandra Ivy ...then you will probably like Buried Lies!
