Ana had been on the run her entire life. That came to an end when her mother was attacked by a vampire. Thats when Ana found out that she was the grey eyed heir to the Rasputin line of witches.

After coming home, Ana starts hearing voices and remembering things that she shouldn't know. Meanwhile, she started high school and is torn between 2 guys. Darren, the grandson of one of her grandmother's closest friends and Tristian, a vampire who Ana has intense feelings for.

When it is found out that Ana is a conjurer, Ana's grandmother tries to keep it secret. In the witch society, a conjurer is someone to be feared and when found out, they are almost always put to death. Ana is running on borrowed time, though. After healing her mother from vampire's venom, too many people know what she is.

This was a great book and it was pretty interesting. I liked that the author made the vampires not so evil. That they could be reminded of their human side. The whole Aiden/London romance broke my heart.
