We have Paige, she has a good job, lives alone with the exception of her dog, Enchilada, and she's not crazy. She's been living a very routine life until a simple phone call from her bestie, Allie.
Cannon Roth, what a name? I sure love it and apparently, he grew up all nerdy ... you sure don't see any of that. Oddly, Cannon has a string of ex-girlfriends that tend to be a little crazy, but his most recent ex tops 'em all! After an insane incident with said ex, Cannon is without a home and most of his stuff. Not willing to couch-surf anymore, he gets a call from his sister saying that she a found a place for him to stay while he finishes his last couple of months of med school.
Once Paige is on the phone with Allie about her new roomie, Paige notices a man walking outside that she one too many dirty thoughts for. Not really thinking much of it, it's not too long that he starts making his way towards her door. After hearing a knock, she opens the door to "Mister Sex-on-Legs" and recognition knocks into her. Cannon.
Cannon thinks he's under some curse and has sworn off sex, but after a few drinks together, Paige calls his BS and wants to prove that she can sleep with him and not fall in love. Yeahhhhhhhh right!
What is to come of these two?!
Guyssss, Cannon is an absolute sweetheart, it'll be hard to not fall in love with him. What a beautiful man he is and quite the smooth talker, no wonder it was so easy for him to snag a lady. Now that Cannon and Paige are living together, their chemistry is off the charts and the tension is just flying through the roof. The story flowed so smoothly and it was a one-sitting read for me. I actually did a re-read before writing this review and I fell in love with it all over again. You'll enjoy every moment of this book with Paige's conscience and Cannon's sexy talk. From childhood friends to roommates and eventually lovers. It's a crock a bull when they think that they can have sex with no feelings involved ... you're all crazy.
As much as I loved the sweet and steamy side of Cannon, there was his caring and passionate side to take note of, especially when it came to his job. Paige complements him so well and is such a good friend to him. I loved seeing their relationship develop as I worked my way through the book.
I highly recommend this read and can't wait until the next one! I'll be keeping my eye out for The Play Mate.
