Taeg is the most sexy and delicious combination of fae and demon on Earth--literally. He's all man and intent on helping his brother keep his sister-in-law and their unborn child safe. While doing research in the library he stumbles upon a grumpy library worker that apparently sees past his ""glamour"" that disguises the fact that he is not human. Maya has lived through the loss of her family due to her unique ability to see demons. She has an intense hatred for them and the skills to kill them. Too bad Taeg decides he must have Maya to help him with his quest. The plot of the story was in no way overshadowed by the personalities of the characters. It was totally believable and I kept forgetting that these otherworldly beings don't exist. I was totally pulled into the story where I happily remained despite numerous other demands for my time. I had to make sure that Maya and Taeg accomplished their goal.
Taeg and Maya are funny, warm, and lovable characters. They are both very spirited individuals. I loved how Maya would fight Taeg and he would shake it off and ask for more. While he was getting his butt kicked he fell for her in the hardest way and while she was hard at work fighting him with her body she left her heart unguarded and he slipped right in. Maya gives Taeg as good as she gets. She's fearless when it comes to standing by her man and protecting him. Forget about the usual silly heroine running from danger in tears and get this book to read about a heroine that pulls daggers and swords from her body and her boots to cut heads from demons like she's slicing bread.
