I loved the premise of this story. Recently widowed publicist, Ashleigh finds herself giving in to the attraction to her younger rock star client, Max. And they give into the attraction fairly quickly in this story. But the storyline than take a twist with one of her staff having stalker type tendencies towards Max, which leads the Ashleigh and Max flying between Las Vegas, Wyoming, New York and Atlanta trying to hide from the woman.

Max and Ashleigh are hot together, but their romance is at times hard to believe (they fell in love with each other in like three days) and at times took a backseat to the stalker storyline which melded into a sex club sting involving Ashleigh's dead husband. For only being 84 pages long, the author tried to pack as much as she could in those pages and it left the story feeling disjointed and didn't give the character enough time to develop to the point where I cared for either one of them.

The ending is a cliffhanger, so you'll need to have the second book handy if you're going to read ROCKIN THE BOSS. I will admit, that while I had issues with this book, I'm intrigued enough by the story that I'll be moving onto book 2.
