Azagoth (1001 Dark Nights)

Azagoth, also known as the Grim Reaper, has always been somewhat of a minor character in these two series. A minor character that packs a big punch. He always took control of any scene where he was present.

He has spent centuries breeding angels known as Memitim, who watch over humans. He is tired of this and refuses to continue. He also insists on a mate from the angels and she must be willing.

Lilliana is a time traveling angel who has committed a crime among the angels. She is given the option to go willing to Azagoth and retrieve a device that can be used for time travel from him within 30 days. If she does this, she will be back in the good graces in Heaven.

While she is trying to get close to Azagoth to figure out how to get this mirror like device out of Sheoul-gra, or Hell, she takes him to different places at his request. She takes him places she thinks he will hate, the Egyptian desert and Arctic. i loved watching him on these little trips. He hasn't left Sheoul-gra in centuries, so desert or blizzard, he didn't care.

I really enjoyed this story, as I expected I would. I've loved this series from the beginning. Azagoth has been wonderful secondary character for several books, so it was great to finally see him get a good story with a happy ending.

I think you could read this story as a stand alone and still enjoy the story. It is a must read for the Demonica and Lords of Deliverance readers.
