This is a series that I've been hooked on since I read book one when it came out in 2012. I love the dystopian world that Kit Rocha has built. The majority of the series focuses on the gang that runs Sector Four, the O'Kanes. In this book, we get to see a glimpse of the lives of people outside of the gang.
If you haven't tried this series yet, it is a world very different from the world we live in today. Electricity is not something that is stable ever since a solar flare took out most of technology. You still have some technology, but it is mostly old stuff that is being rebuilt for use today. There are somethings that are way better for them, medical regeneration, and med gel for healing. Many of the day-to-day items like soap, is made the old fashion ways.
Tatiana Stone is the eldest daughter of the former leader of Sector Four. She has finally gotten herself in a stable and independent place. Her shop is making her enough money to support herself. She walks a tight line, not taking any sides. She doesn't want to update the O'Kanes or the father's still loyal followers, even after his death. Her little sister doesn't see any of this and just wants to go back to being a princess of Sector Four.
Zan is recovering from a bad injury from the early book. He knows that things are unstable in the sector. He knows that he is needed at full strength to make the entire gang safe. He shows his amazing ability to read the needs of others when he sees how much Tatiana needs her independence, especially financially, to feel secure.
This book is extremely hot, it is tame by Sector Four standards. Zan is very alpha. And while Tatiana has a submissive attitude, she is also extremely independent.
