He growls, she growls, they all growl…

Reading the Fairytale Shifters was everything I expected from an Alexa Riley smutty read. It was hot, sweet and very sexy…but…along the way my thought processes took a bit of a turn.

When I started and up until the end of Book 2 –

Wow, that’s HOT!!
I love how possessive he is.
Oooh, I wouldn’t mind someone “marking” me.
Even at her worst, he thinks she’s beautiful…I like it…I like it a lot.
I wonder if I have a distinctive smell that sends hubby crazily in lust???
They can’t keep their hands off each other and he must see her and keep her in touching distance, that is so sweet.
Wow, he wants her again…and again…and again…that is SEXY!!

From Book 3 onwards –

Wow, that’s still really HOT!!
BUT...
Geez man, give her some space.
Yeah, I get it, you don’t like others looking at your mate…OKAAAAY, but think of the scars.
You may still love her at her worst, but don’t give me that hokey B.S. that she’s beautiful even with a red face and a vein pounding in her forehead…SCOFFS!!
Seriously, you’ve been banging like bunnies, you have got to smell a bit rank?!?!
STOP SNEAKING UP ON HER!! That’s getting a wee bit creepy stalkerish.
Wow, he wants her again…and Again…and AGAIN?!?!? That has got to be painful, my stomach muscles are hurting just thinking about it.

I guess it just gets to a stage where the fairytale gets bombarded with reality.

There is definitely a place in my (book reading) world for an Alexa Riley every now and then. I think the problem was that I read so many together that it lost some of its gusto. What started off as extremely powerful and even romantic sexy times, lost intensity by the profusion of screaming “O’s”. I guess I just need to spread out my screaming “O’s” a wee bit. 😉

I do recommend reading an Alexa Riley for a laugh and a screaming "O" once in a while but don't go in expecting a literary masterpiece. These stories are a little rough around the edges and could do with a good edit, but luckily, I got what I expected.
